Description
Fresh to the market is this Rolex GMT-Master reference 16700 "Pepsi," a highly collectible neo-vintage example from 1998. This A-serial watch features the sought-after "Swiss Only" dial, a short-lived transitional configuration produced for approximately one year as Rolex moved from tritium to Luminova lume. Because of its limited production, the Swiss Only dial has become increasingly desirable among collectors. The watch features a beautifully preserved gloss dial with its original handset, complemented by the increasingly popular Rolex red and blue anodized aluminum "Pepsi" bezel insert. The classic 40mm case is fitted to a Rolex Jubilee bracelet with correct 502B end links and a U8 clasp code dating to August 1998. Powered by the Rolex Caliber 3175 movement, the watch winds smoothly and is keeping time well. The condition of this timepiece is excellent, with the exception of very minor superficial scratching on the sides of the case and bracelet. A minor and faint halo is present around the hand stack, resulting from a previous instance of temporary hand drag that has since been fully resolved. The effect is subtle and is nearly undetectable to the naked eye, becoming visible only when examined under magnification with a loupe or magnifying glass. For the sake of transparency, we have provided a magnified image that accurately depicts the current condition of the dial and highlights the extent of the halo. Under normal viewing conditions, the halo is virtually imperceptible. Included with the watch are its original Rolex outer box, display box, GMT-Master booklet, translation booklet, Rolex Factory Service booklet, leather booklet sleeve, Rolex calendar card, green chronometer certification hang tag, serialized hang tag, and original Rolex Warranty Paper. A complete and desirable example of the final generation GMT-Master, this Swiss Only 16700 captures the charm and collectibility that define the neo-vintage Rolex era.
