Originally created as a regional exclusive for Middle Eastern markets, the Cartier Santos WSSA0055 offers a bold and contemporary interpretation of one of the Maison’s most iconic designs. Drawing from the legacy of the original pilot’s watch created for Alberto Santos-Dumont, this striking Santos features a rich green sunray dial paired with a black ADLC-coated bezel, creating a distinctive and modern aesthetic. The large-model stainless steel case measures 39.8mm and combines polished and brushed finishing with Cartier’s signature exposed bezel screws, while the protected octagonal crown is finished with a faceted green synthetic spinel. The vibrant green dial is accented by applied luminescent Hindu-Arabic numerals and Cartier’s signature sword-shaped hands, offering a perfect balance of legibility and elegance. Powering the watch is Cartier’s Manufacture Calibre 1847 MC, a self-winding mechanical movement offering approximately 55 hours of power reserve and a date display positioned at 6 o’clock. The watch is completed with Cartier’s QuickSwitch interchangeable strap system, allowing the wearer to seamlessly transition between the textured black rubber strap and an unworn green alligator leather strap, both fitted with an interchangeable stainless steel deployant buckle.
