Description
The Rolex Oyster Perpetual reference 6614 is a very rare reference and the predecessor to the Oyster Perpetual reference 1018 . I am extremely proud to offer this "like new" 6614 as I have to imagine it will be years before I find a better example. The case is 36mm in diameter (43mm lug-to-lug) and wears very slim at 11mm in height. Notably on the case back, the very rare stamping of "Stainless Steel" is added. The dauphine hands have developed a beautiful patina. Not only does the dial feature an applied coronet, but it also features the applied "ROLEX" letters. As an early OP, it is absent of the "Superlative" language. The dial features bold hour markers and warm luminous plots which are complementary of the 20mm "Honey Wind" strap made by Nick Gabarro. The serial is a 311,XXX dating to circa 1957. The watch does not come with box and papers. We do not know the service history, but it is running well. It recently passed a water resistance test of 5 bar.
