Description
Offered here is a beautifully preserved, unpolished 1988 Rolex Submariner ref. 5513, featuring its original glossy black lacquer dial, tritium lume, strong case lines, and original Rolex 93150 Oyster bracelet. With an 8.57 million serial, this example represents a desirable later-production configuration that retains the rugged character of the classic 5513 while incorporating the subtle refinements of the later models. The 40mm stainless steel case remains unpolished, retaining well-defined lines, crisp crown guards, and preserved chamfers. It shows honest wear consistent with careful ownership and even retains its original caseback sticker, a particularly nice detail rarely found on examples of this age. The original “WGS” glossy black lacquer dial features applied hour markers framed in 18k white gold, giving the dial added depth while preserving the clean and highly legible character of the Submariner. The original tritium lume plots, hands, and bezel pip have aged to a consistent eggshell tone. A domed plexiglass crystal completes the vintage presentation. Inside is the reliable Rolex Caliber 1520 automatic movement, offering approximately 48 hours of power reserve. The watch is fitted with its original Rolex 93150 Oyster bracelet, complete with 11 links, dive extension, and 580 end links. The clasp carries an “N11” code dating to November 1989, appropriately corresponding with the watch’s 8.57 million serial range. The bracelet shows minimal stretch and remains in very nice overall condition. Overall, this is a particularly well-preserved later-production 5513, retaining an unpolished case, original dial and hands, period-correct bracelet, and strong overall originality. A great example for the collector seeking a late 5513 with honest wear, excellent proportions, and a well-preserved original configuration.
