Column wheel chronograph movement with vertical clutch. Jewel count can be 45-47 depending on the line of watch the caliber is used in.
About the Family
The Chronomat traces its origins to 1984, when Breitling introduced a chronograph with a distinctive rider-tab bezel designed for quick calculation. The B01 designation marks a watershed moment for the brand: Breitling's first in-house manufactured chronograph calibre, developed from 2004 and launched in 2009, ending decades of dependence on external movement suppliers. The column-wheel chronograph with vertical clutch delivers 70 hours of power reserve and represents Breitling's statement of mechanical independence. The 42mm case size positions this variant as the most versatile in the Chronomat range — substantial enough to read at a glance, refined enough for daily wear.
About this reference
The Breitling Chronomat B01 42 was introduced in 2020. A complete revamp of Breitling's evergreen, this new version sports a sleeker case with more clearly defined angles, a redesigned bezel, and the option of a brand-new 'Rouleaux' style bracelet. Inside ticks Breitling's in-house B01 movement. Reference AB0134101G1A1 has a stainless steel case and a Silver dial.
