Tank MC 34.3 Pink Gold / Chocolate

The Tank was created by Louis Cartier in 1917, inspired by the plan view of the Renault tanks he observed on the Western Front. The vertical side bars (brancards) that define the case are not bezels but structural elements that flow into the strap — a design so resolved that it has remained essentially unchanged for over a century. The Tank's proportions have influenced nearly every rectangular dress watch that followed. Through variants like the Tank Française, Américaine, and Solo, Cartier has explored every permutation of the original idea without ever abandoning its fundamental geometry. It is arguably the single most important case design in watchmaking history.

The Cartier Tank MC was introduced in 2013 as a more masculine take on one of the brand's most iconic models. The classic Tank design is executed in a more robust fashion, while retaining familiar elements and the signature elegance of other watches in this family. The Tank MC reference W5330002 has a pink gold case of 34.3 * 44 mm. It is powered by the self-winding, in-house caliber 1904-PS, which can be admired through the sapphire crystal case back. The dial is chocolate brown.
