About the Movement

1304 CS movement

Chronomètre Souverain The manually wound, 21,600v/h movement in 18-carat gold baseplates and bridges shows why the simplest mechanisms are often the most attractive. Twin barrels, in the classic configuration of precision watches, work in parallel to deliver stable power for much of their 50-hour indicated reserve.

About the Family

The Souveraine collection contains F.P. Journe's hand-wound masterworks — the watches that established his reputation as one of the most important independent watchmakers of his generation. Beginning with the Tourbillon Souverain in 1999 and expanding to include the Chronomètre à Résonance, Chronomètre Souverain, and Sonnerie Souveraine, each piece in the collection demonstrates a specific horological principle executed at the highest level. The Résonance, which uses two balances beating in acoustic sympathy to improve timekeeping accuracy, is widely regarded as one of the most important mechanical innovations of the modern era. Every Souveraine movement is crafted in rose gold — a Journe signature that is both aesthetic choice and technical statement.

About this reference

The FP Journe Chronometre Bleu was introduced in November of 2009. It is the first FP Journe watch to feature a case made of tantalum, a rare, hard and dark grey metal with blue overtones. This case (39mm) houses the hand-wound caliber 1304 CS movement, which can be seen through the transparent case back. The blue hue is accentuated by the Chrome Blue dial.
