About the Family
The Black Bay 58, introduced in 2018, addressed the most common criticism of the original Black Bay: its thickness. By reducing the case to 39mm with a slimmer profile, Tudor created a dive watch that captured the vintage proportions of their 1958 reference 7924 — the 'Big Crown' — while wearing with a comfort and elegance that the original Black Bay's more assertive case could not match. The '58' quickly became one of the most recommended watches in its price range, offering in-house movement quality, genuine heritage design, and a case size that works on nearly any wrist. It demonstrated that sometimes the most significant improvement is subtraction.
About this reference
The Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight was introduced at BaselWorld 2018. Compared to the original Black Bay the case size is reduced in both diameter as well as height, and it is powered by the self-winding MT5402 which was introduced simultaneously. Reference 79010SG-0001, added to the collection in 2021, has a 925 silver case paired with a taupe dial.
