Standing as one of the most versatile references the Rolex Datejust 36, reference 16030, is a classic 1980s model that blends vintage character with everyday practicality. It features a stainless steel engine-turned bezel, acrylic crystal with Cyclops date, and the Rolex Caliber 3035 with quickset date function, introducing the convenience of a quickset date while retaining the character collectors appreciate from vintage Rolex models. This example has a 9.3M serial which dates its production to approximately 1986 and is in excellent condition. The 36mm Oyster case shows minimal wear and retains its correct reference and serial between the lugs. It is powered by the Caliber 3035, running at 28,800 vph, and includes the original acrylic crystal. The engine-turned bezel gives the watch its distinctive vintage look. The watch is fitted with its original Rolex Oyster bracelet, reference 78360, with correct 558 end links and a K7 clasp code (July 1986). The bracelet retains all 13 original links and remains in excellent condition. Accompanying the watch are its original Rolex outer box, presentation box, dust cloth, Officially Certified Swiss Chronometer hang tag, Datejust booklet, and original warranty papers dated April 1987. A well-preserved example of one of Rolex's most enduring references, this Datejust 16030 offers an exceptional combination of vintage appeal, mechanical reliability, and everyday versatility, making it an outstanding addition to any collection.
