About the Family
The Submersible was separated from the Luminor family in 2019 to establish its own identity as Panerai's dedicated dive watch collection. The lineage traces back to the 1950s Egyptian Navy commissions and incorporates a unidirectional rotating bezel — the key feature that distinguishes it from the time-only Luminor. The Submersible's bezel, with its prominent dot-at-twelve marker and raised minute graduations, is designed to be operated with gloved hands in low-visibility conditions. The collection has pushed depth ratings beyond 300 metres and incorporated materials like carbotech and BMG-Tech, positioning the Submersible as Panerai's platform for material and engineering innovation.
About this reference
The original 'La Bomba' Panerai Luminor Submersible 1000M PAM 64 was released in 2000 as a limited edition of 500 pieces. It has a black dial with a silve seconds subdial.
