Description
This Patek Philippe chronograph reference 5170G-010 is a spectacular white gold timepiece with white gold Breguet numerals and a black double-signed dial from prestigious New York retailer Tiffany & Co. This is the most coveted and rare configuration of the reference 5170G. There are reportedly only 12 black dial examples of the 5170G that were ever stamped Tiffany & Co. Ben Clymer famously has one of them. Kevin Rose was an original owner of another, and rumor has it that John Mayer has one in his world-class Patek collection as well. We believe that the dial and case combination of these few pieces make them the most attractive modern Patek Philippe chronographs, by far. The reference 5170 chronograph is powered by the famous Patek calibre CH 29-535 PS movement, the company's first fully in-house manually wound chronograph movement. The exhibition sapphire back leaves this gorgeous movement on full display. The black dial and Breguet numerals on these pieces are just breathtaking. We do not know the service history, but the watch is running well. Rarer these days, this grail piece comes as a proper full set with its original Patek and Tiffany's boxes, its papers, black leather strap and white gold deployant buckle along with an extra Patek Philippe black leather strap, also from Tiffany & Co. The watch comes from the original owner who purchased the watch in 2018 from Tiffany & Co. in New York City.
