Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch Yellow Gold / Bracelet

The Speedmaster was introduced in 1957 as a racing chronograph and became the most famous watch in history when it was selected by NASA for the Apollo programme after surviving a brutal battery of tests that no other chronograph could pass. Buzz Aldrin wore a Speedmaster on the surface of the moon during Apollo 11 in July 1969 — a fact that has defined the watch's identity ever since. The Moonwatch designation specifically refers to the hand-wound, hesalite-crystal configuration that most closely follows the specification of the watches that flew to the moon. The current production Moonwatch maintains the essential character — same case shape, same tachymeter bezel, same three-register dial — while incorporating a modern co-axial movement.

The Omega Speedmaster is an icon like very few other watches. As reference 3195.50.00, both case and bracelet are done in yellow gold. The solid caseback hides the caliber 1863 from view. This watch is fitted with a sapphire glass.
