About the Movement
Beating to a frequency of 28,800 beats/hour or 4Hz, the movement is regulated by a variable inertia oscillator with silicon balance spring, held in place by a traversing bridge - a guarantee of its robustness. The movement is certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC).
About the Family
The Pelagos is Tudor's most technically ambitious dive watch — a 500-metre professional instrument in titanium with a helium escape valve, ceramic bezel, and an in-house movement with a silicon balance spring. Where the Black Bay family draws on vintage nostalgia, the Pelagos is entirely forward-looking: its titanium case and bracelet are lighter and more corrosion-resistant than steel, the spring-loaded clasp adjusts automatically to accommodate a wetsuit, and the luminous material charges faster and glows longer than conventional Super-LumiNova. The Pelagos represents what Tudor can do when heritage is set aside and the brief is purely performance.
About this reference
The TUDOR Pelagos FXD was introduced in 2021 as the result of a partnership between TUDOR and the Marine Nationale. This watch has a titanium case with fixed bars measuring in at 42mm, and a blue dial with matching blue ceramic bezel. The case back is stainless steel. The Pelagos FXD reference 25707B/21-0001 has a case back engraved for production year 2021.
